The future of independent physicians depends on their willingness to leave commercial and government insurance. The Supreme Court decision further empowers the corporate health delivery system. When coupled with the Government’s value based medicine, it is likely physicians will be forced to deliver services at prices that are set by the government since medical care will become a right and not a service. The challenge is to move our practices towards a direct pay, fee for service model. The talk will discuss what independent physicians need to do to prepare their practices for a smooth transition.
