Dr. Bergestuen has the unique experience of being both a physician and a patient. Thus, she has seen both sides of the medical profession – both the giving and receiving ends. She is a survivor of stage IV lung cancer and has had a miraculous journey. Dr. Bergestuen has also had experience as a physician both in the US model as well in the socialized medical system in Norway and she compares and contrasts her experiences in both systems.
